Electrical Engineer for Testing and Commissioning Tasks

General Purpose - Function

 

  • Handle PSAT to perform short circuit, load flow and stability analysis.
  • Perform setting calculations of numerical relays.
  • Commissioning and testing of protective relays: operate various relay testing equipment using basic and advanced options; connect testing equipment following the wiring drawings and safety procedures; analyze results applying metrology criteria and proprietary acceptance criteria; and prepare test reports.
  • Commissioning and testing of other types of electrical equipment, such as digital and analog meters, transducers, circuit breakers, current and potential, transformers, power transformers, ground grid resistance
  • Functional testing and technical support during power plant start-up for control systems, communications, interfaces with DCS, fault simulation and troubleshooting; developing energization and synchronization procedures for each project; measurement of parameters during service
  • Draft proposals; estimate labor and equipment requirements and costs based on established rates; defining the project's scope and methodology; and coordinate project logistics.
  • Review specification and engineering drawings of electrical substations
  • Provide safety analysis and proper equipment isolation procedure

 

    Administrative Duties:
     

  • Responsible for the sales, profit, and quality of the area operation to include promoting new business, developing an area profit plan.
  • Review and auditing field jobs.
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing Manager to promote new opportunities.
  • Planning regular meetings to promote the follow up and review progress
  • Responsible for the general supervision, safety and technical training of Field Engineers and Technicians.
  • Develop and review reports of field engineers
  • Other duties as needed and requires.

 

    Required Minimun Qualifications:
     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of work experience performing the described duties
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Calibrate and perform functional tests on both electromechanical and micro-processor based protective relays for high voltage substations
  • Experience maintaining and testing circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear and similar equipment.
  • Capable of trouble shooting generation, distribution and transmission controls circuits.
  • Previous hands-on testing experience with electrical equipment and familiarity with engineering studies such as short circuit and coordination, arc flash and harmonics desired.
  • Strong computers skills including editing, formatting and using templates in Microsoft Word, use of internet for standards/ products/ manufacturer research and operation of computer controlled test equipment.
  • Previous service business experience preferred.
  • High degree of communication, supervisory, organizational and good management skills.
  • Knowledge regarding electrical work safety in utilities, industrial and commercial systems.

  • Omicron Test Universe advanced and Protest for Doble 6150 advanced

 

    Additional Requirements:
     

  • Must have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
  • Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
  • Able to work overtime and travel out of town and out of the country for periods of time.

Software Sales Engineer

Job Description

 

The main responsibility for this position is to lead and manage the promotion, positioning and sales of a Power System Analysis software. A customer database for the sales purposes has to be developed and maintained by using its technical knowledge and sales abilities to provide sound recommendations based on the software capabilities and modules.

 

    Responsibilities:
     

  • Build and maintain a customer database by developing new and long-term customer relationships
  • Attend to events of the power industry for networking purposes and to keep updated on industry trends and regulations
  • Prepare and give presentations to potential customers related to the product
  • Provide training to customers
  • Prepare marketing material, quotations/proposals
  • Call and visit customers to establish commercial relationships
  • Generate sales leads and achieve sales goals
  • Report activities to management

 

    Requirements:
     

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge on power systems analysis preferable
  • 2+ years of professional selling experience or 5+ years as a Power Systems Engineer
  • Self-driven and results oriented
  • Manage communications in a professional and courteous manner with co-workers and customers
  • Ability to travel 40%

Engineer for Power System Studies and Engineering

    Responsibilities:
     

  • Conduct power system studies for short circuit, set-up and coordination of protective devices, arc flash hazard analysis, transient stability and load flow.
  • Development of Protection and Control engineering. AC and DC schematics from scratch and modifications of existing projects.
  • Draft proposals; estimate labor and equipment requirements and costs based on established rates; defining the project's scope and methodology; and coordinate project logistics

 

    Required Minimum Qualifications:
     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of work experience performing the described duties.
  • AutoCAD knowledge to generate and modify electrical drawings.
  • Capable to work with Power Systems Analysis Software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

    Preferred Qualifications:
     

  • 2 + years of work experience using any Power System Analysis Tool.

 

    Additional requirements:
     

  • Must have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
  • Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
  • Able to work overtime and travel out of town and out of the country for periods of time. International travels will be departing from Miami (FL) International Airport.
