GERS was founded in 1981 to provide comprehensive consulting services in electrical, electronic, civil, environmental and mechanical engineering. The company has offices in Cali, Colombia to attend the Latin American Market and in Weston, Florida, USA for the North American and overseas markets.

With more than 40 professional engineers, some of whom are involved with local universities, and over 20 technicians plus support staff, GERS is well capable of undertaking projects of all types and sizes, and is able to carry out all levels of studies and designs in these areas, together with field supervision and equipment testing, and project work for utilities and industrial and commercial complexes. The company has developed its own suite of computer systems which include specialized programs for the design and analysis of electrical power systems at all voltage levels. It also has a wide range of specialist test equipment and, with its own vehicles, has a highly mobile work force.

Over the past two decades GERS has been responsible for the completion of projects of all sizes and complexity for utilities, and industrial and commercial organizations covering work in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Haiti, Iraq, Mexico, Panama, Peru,Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela. In the last two years these projects ranged from checking relay co-ordination at an industrial complex, to design, oversee construction and commission several electrical substations at 110, 230, and 500 kV.
